Hey everybody and nail polish lovers :) I've got a small secret to share.
The best way to see a true representation of a nail polish is the use white nail polish as the base coat.
I used my Etude House white cotton candy nail polish. Can you spot the finger with the white
base coat? I didn't do a good job covering the white polish up so it's probably a no-brainer.
It's on the left of each picture. :)
The nails on the left of the pictures show 1 coat of white nail polish and 1 coat of the red/purple nail polish. On the right of the pictures shows only 1 coat of red/purple nail polish. You can see how the nails on the left is darker than the ones on the right. It's like I've applied on two coats of the same nail polish.
If you have a favorite or an expensive nail polish and you need to apply two coats per nail, it might be an idea to buy a white nail polish to apply on each nail first. By doing this, you only have to apply 1 coat of your favorite nail polish on each nail instead of 2.

I find that it saves up on your nail polish and all it does is make it look like you've got 2 coats of the same polish. :)
Deletelove this idea! it also makes it so you have to do less coats. i have this opi nail polish i love but i need 3 coats and i always mess it up >.< will use your idea for my next nail tutorial ^_^

DeleteGreat tip! I use white nail polish as a base for neons in the summertime - it makes them so much brighter! :)
ReplyDeleteThought I might share it :) But I suppose a lot of nail polish lovers already know it.
DeleteI used to love neon colours. They dried out a few years ago and I haven't bought any since.
Tnx for sharing great post.
